The intricacies on how to transfer/sell your shares on one of India’s most popular depositories — CDSL
Once you have been registered through “CDSL Easiest”, you can transfer your shares through CDSL by using the below procedure:
- You need to add a Trusted Account in order to transfer the shares
2. Then click on “Add Trusted Account”
3. Enter 16-digit “Demat Id” to add a Trusted Account and Click “Submit”
4. The request goes to Broker to map the Trusted Account
5. It will be shown as “Pending for Authorisation” until the Broker approves it. Once authenticated by the Broker, it will be shown as “ Authenticated by DP”.
6. After authentication is completed, Go to Transactions and Click Setup
7. Next, go to Bulk Setup and click “Bulk Setup”
8. Select Buy or Sell. Select only “Execution Date” & “Counter BOID”
9. Click on + Button
10. Add ISIN number, Quantity, Consideration Amount, and Reason as Off-Market
11. Click on the “Submit Button”
12. Select “Transaction” and click “Commit”
13. Enter OTP sent on “Email” and “Mobile”
14. Enter the 8-digit CDSL PIN received from the Broker on your email id to complete the transaction.
15. The share transfer procedure will be over. However, around 6 pm you will get an email from CDSL which you need to authenticate, and then shares will be deducted from your Demat Account.
